MontyCler brings the heat with his newest track “Waistband Deems”

Coming fresh off our debut album release, Wubaholics is coming through again with your weekly dose of prescribed wubs. This time it’s with the new single “Waistband Deems” from 24 year old, Florida-based producer MontyCler. This is MontyCler’s first time releasing with Wubaholics and his track is without a doubt going to tickle the brains of every bass enthusiast surfing the waves of the cloud. Here at Wubaholics, We want to start allowing fans the opportunity to learn more about their favorite artists. In honor of the Waistband Deems release, we got the chance to interview MontyCler and talk a little bit about the new track, life in quarantine, and why the name MontyCler.

Rodrigo Sef Emundo De La Madriz Parke, better known as MontyCler, is coming into this Wubaholics release after throwing down on a STACKED Spicy Boi’s live stream last month which featured artists such as MeSo, Smoakland, Mlotik, and as well as our homie iON from Wubaholics Anonymous meeting #29. With influences like Mr Carmack, EAZYBAKED and VCTRE, the MontyCler soundcloud account is approaching 4k followers and it has amassed a total of over 200k combined plays across just 9 tracks. (This does not take into account plays from collabs posted on other artists accounts or tracks posted on label accounts.)

When it comes to how the name MontyCler came about, you have to go back to Rigo’s highschool days. One day when skipping classes with his girlfriend, they were caught red handed back at the house by his girlfriend’s mom. She gave them a lecture on why they would wind up being losers who would be trapped in their hometown of Clermont, Florida forever. She labeled them as Clermontians. Which is actually a pretty sick name, and Rigo thought so too. So he took the letters, mixed them up a bit, added a “y” to them and created the identity that is now known as MontyCler. So I guess there goes the theory that he’s just some guy named Monty.

Rigo says that his life really hasn’t been affected too much during quarantine, fortunately his job was labeled as essential and as someone who considers himself antisocial he has felt right  at home and says “i feel like everyone else was just introduced to how i live everyday.” Rigo told us that creating music makes him happier than anything else, so this quarantine has really helped his creativity when it comes to producing.

How does MontyCler go about producing one of his tracks? Well with his previously mentioned full time job taking up his weekdays, most of his production time is spent on the weekends. Meaning that tracks normally take a couple of weekends to get finished. He told us that for his wubaholics release “ there were definitely a bunch of happy accidents. That's how I make most of my shit. by mistake.” Nobody is perfect, every single one of us makes mistakes, and in this case, MontyCler does a phenomenal job of utilizing these mistakes and turning them into futuristic bubbly robot sounds that shouldn’t even make sense but yet continue to put a bass face on listeners' faces time and time again.

It is of no question that there are artists in the industry driven by ego who seem to only care about an end goal. They care about “making it” and are racing towards some imaginary finish line. But MontyCler doesn’t see it that way at all. He sees it all in an entirely different perspective. “I don't want to reach the end. I always wanna be learning and improving.” He said. “No need to overcomplicate it.” He is enjoying the process by always pushing himself to do his best while sitting back and enjoying the ride called life. Listeners will find themselves wanting to do the same as MontyCler opens up a gateway to another dimension with his new track “Waistband Deems” out now exclusively on Wubaholics.
